Mikaela and Eliza have just returned from a World Qualifying Series in the Canary Islands, where Mikaela placed first.
“I’m really happy I was able to find a few waves and stoked the waves stuck around for the finals. I have a couple of big events at home coming up so I’ll definitely take some confidence out of this win and try to carry it into the next few events.”
The girls, who are both currently ranked among the top 100 female surfers in the world (at 32nd and 83rd place respectively), now plan to compete at home in Australia for the next month at the Newcastle Surf Fest – before they take off for Martinique and Barbados.
